xfriend runs under Windows and Unix / Linux systems and may be installed 
easily via a graphical installation program. On Unix / Linux systems it is 
also possible to install xfriend without GUI.

The following software platforms are supported (installation on other 
Windows / Linux platforms may be possible as well, but these are not 
officially supported):

Microsoft Windows 2000
Microsoft Windows XP
Microsoft Windows 2003
Microsoft Windows Vista
Microsoft Windows 2008
Microsoft Windows 7

Debian Linux based systems (Debian, Ubuntu/Kubuntu)

SUSE Linux version 9.3 and above
SUSE Linux Enterprise version 10 and above
Red Hat Enterprise Linux version 5 and above

Linux versions with 2.6 kernel and Gnome/KDE Frontend

To ensure a trouble free operation of xfriend on your Linux system, 
it is necessary to install the following libraries:

o	libc.so.6 (version >= 2.2.4)
o	libstdc++5 (version >= 5.0.5)
o	libgcc1
